So my eye and I had a coming to Jesus meeting and will be well. Turns out my so called pink eye was in fact an abscess. How in the heck that happened I will never know. I am 35 and have never had a run in with one. By Tuesday me eyelids were so swollen it was unreal and I could no longer take the pain. Anytime I leaned over to pick something up or look down it was sheer terrifying agony. I hit my threshold of pain and no insurance be damned, called our eye doctor. Well let me add that researching on the Internet and seeing pictures of unspeakable happenings to peoples eyes was an added motivation.
We have been going to this eye practice for years and thank God they were able to fit me in.
Two and a half hours later, a pain unknown to man, two forms of antibiotics and several days later you would never known what I had been through. I saw an optometrist and then the opthomologist who said that if I was not better by the end of the week they may have to call an eyelid specialist. An eyelid specialist???? They have those? I am glad that my grandmother refused to let me drive because I never would have made it out of the parking lot just from pain alone.
I am now surrendering my vision to an old pair of glasses that were in my car. I am wary of putting contacts back in. Even if the doctor gives me the go ahead after my follow-up appointment....IOWNKNOW.
